Skillet chocolate cake with ice cream





•1 c flour




•1/2 t baking soda




•1 c sugar




•dash salt




•1/4 c (half a stick) butter




•1/4 c vegetable oil




•2 tablespoons cocoa powder




•1/2 cup water




•1/4 cup milk




•1 egg




•1/2 teaspoon vanilla




Frost Ingredients:




•1/4 cup (half a stick) butter




•2 tablespoons cocoa




•3-4 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)




•1/2 cup chopped pecans




•2 cups powdered sugar




•1/2 tsp vanilla




•Ice cream (for serving)




•Caramel sauce (for serving, these are delicious!)




•Whipped cream (for serving)




*Methods :




Preheat oven 350°F, in bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, sugar and salt and set aside.




In a 10-inch cast iron skillet, boil the butter, vegetable oil, cocoa powder, and water. Remove from heat and mix the dry ingredients well. Mix milk, eggs and vanilla. Bake the pan cake at 350°F for 15-20 min

While the cake begins to cool, preparing decorations. In a medium saucepan, bring the butter, cocoa and milk to a boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, nuts and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Pour over warm cake, brush with spoon, and serve with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and whipped cream.
